Created in May 2000, Tobacco Free Initiative (TFI) is the only local non-governmental organization specialized in fighting against tobacco smoking. Its members are: businessmen, businesswomen, doctors, lawyers, psychologists and journalists.
OUR MISSION:
Fight against tobacco consumption in order to help improving the quality of life, reducing diseases and deaths due to tobacco consumption, and creating a healthy environment.
OUR MAIN OBJECTIVE:
-Prevent yougsters from starting to smoke
-Protect non-smokers from exposure to others' tobacco smoke
-Help the smokers to stop smoking
OUR STRATEGIES:
- Target teenagers in the place they spend most of their time, such as school
- Create a positive image of the non-smoker to which teenagers can identify
- Reveal to teenagers the trap tobacco advertising.
- Create in teenagers mind a critical thinking and an active attitude against tobacco.
- Inform teenagers that tobacco is harmful. |
